Danbury, CT--The Endicott College Women's Soccer Team opened their 2005 season with a 3-0 loss to Western Connecticut State University.
The Colonials of Western Connecticut received two goals from senior Nicole Corbin including the game-winner in the 19th minute. She later added the final goal with 40 minutes to play. With Corbin's two goals she surpassed WestConn Hall of Fame inductee Wendy Patenaude (1994-97) as the school's all time point scorer. Calie Carter netted her second goal of the season at 35:58 to give WestConn a 2-0 advantage.
Jenna Cappellieri worked the first 61 minutes in goal for the Colonials and made three saves. Sophomore Ashley Griffin came on to finish in net and made five saves.
Paula McGinn (4 shots) and Shannon Pilsbury (2 shots) played well for Endicott. Junior Tina Loguidice made four saves for the Gulls.
Endicott (0-1) faces Wheaton College on September 6 in Norton, MA as Jodi Kenyon goes in search of her first win at Endicott College.
