Springfield, Mass. – Sophomore midfielder Holly Davis (Guilford, Conn.) continued her torrid scoring streak and junior goalie Leah Neff (South Berwick, Maine) made 13 huge saves to propel the Endicott women’s lacrosse team to its sixth straight The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Tournament Championship with 10-4 victory over top-seeded Western New England Saturday afternoon.

Davis finished with a game-high six goals and added one assist to finish with seven points. She opened with the game’s first two goals and went on a solo 3-0 run midway through the second half to put the game out of reach. Neff made nine saves in the second frame alone as the Gulls held the Golden Bears to a season-low four goals in the win.

The Blue and Green will be making their sixth NCAA Tournament appearance in a row and will learn when, where, and who they play on Sunday (May 8) night.

Davis set the tone early with a pair of quick goals to grab an early 2-0 lead for the visitors.

Western New England senior midfielder Nicole Poli (Medfield, Mass.) scored at 13:47 to cut the lead to one before Endicott responded with five unanswered to take a 7-1 edge. Davis ignited the run on an assist from junior attack Morgan DeShaw (Danville, N.H.) with just under six minutes to play in the opening half before freshman midfield Rachel Campos (Shrewsbury, Mass.) connected on a feed from Davis at the 1:34 mark to give the Gulls a 4-1 at the break.

DeShaw erupted for three straight coming out of the half to stretch the lead to six.

Junior midfielder Liz McRoberts (Bourne, Mass.) finally stopped the run with a goal at 18:05, but Davis put together her solo run to erase any doubt. The sophomore midfield has scored 16 goals and assisted on four others in three TCCC Tournament games.

Junior midfielder Katie Toomy (Northborough, MA) scored a goal and assisted on a goal by senior attacker Jeanmarie Barbato (Huntington Station, NY) to close out the scoring.

Neff was outstanding for the Gulls and was three stops short of a season-high with 13.

Senior goalkeeper Marissa Bonitatibus (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) made six stops for the Golden Bears.

Endicott now turns its attention to the NCAA Tournament as it pursues the program’s first victory.
