Wenham, MA - The Endicott Gulls lost to cross-town rival Gordon tonight, 52-46. A dismal 22% shooting from the field cost Endicott the game. Junior Liz Yuneman was the only Gull to score in double figures with 14 points. Sophomore Holly Beth Wojcik ripped down 11 rebounds to go with her 8 points.
Endicott held a slight advantage over Gordon throughout most of the first half. Carly Haynes came out on fire scoring 5 points in the first seven minutes before going down with a game ending injury. The Gulls went into the break with a 1 point advantage, 22-21. The cold shooting showed it's effect in the second half, as Gordon went out on a 12-5 run. EC held on and battled back coming within 3 as time ticked down, but was unable to overcome the deficit. Yuneman, Wojcik, and McKenzie Ferguson (8 points, 9 rebounds) led play for the Gulls. Sarah DeLuca led the Fighting Scots scoring 23 points and pulling down 12 rebounds.
Gordon received its first win of the season while Endicott's record now moves to 2-3. Endicott hits the road again on Thursday night at 7 pm versus Bridgewater State.
