Beverly, MA -- For the second week in a row Endicott guard Liz Yuneman (Middle Village, NY) earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Co-Player of the Week honors in women's basketball. Yuneman, who shares the recognition with Nichols forward Heather Clarke, has led the Endicott Gulls to their best start ever in the conference and a school record ten-game winning streak.
The junior was unstoppable last week averaging 19.7 points per game over three contests. This included 51% (18-for-35) shooting from the field, 64% (14-for-22) from behind the arc and 82% (9-for-11) from the free-throw line. Yuneman is ranked seventh overall in the conference in scoring (15.4 points per game) and is currently tied for second in the conference for 3-point field goal percentage with a .469 percentage. She is also number one in the conference for 3-pointers made per game (2.73).
"Liz can shoot the three, take it to the basket, or pull up for a jump shot. On top of that she is one of the fastest basketball players I have ever seen, making her very tough to defend," said Head Coach Jen Lucey. "Her ability to create and make the shot has been a big reason why our team is having such a great year."
The Gulls have five more regular season games before the CCC tournament begins on Tuesday, February 22nd. Endicott is 11-1 in the CCC, and 13-7 overall.
