The Gulls soared to their 15th win of the season (12th consecutive) as they defeated the Curry Colonels, 75-57, today in Milton, MA. Junior co-captain Jodi Brown led Endicott with a career-high 26 points.
Endicott took a 30-11 lead in the first 11 minutes of the game led by Brown with three 3's and Holly Beth Wojcik and Lisa Chartier with 4 baskets each. The Colonels answered with a 12-0 run of their own to pull within 7, 30-23, but that is as close as they would come. In the last 5 minutes leading into break, EC, led by Brown again with two of her game-high six 3's, went on a 14-2 run to take a 44-25 advantage.
The Colonels cut the lead to 13 (45-32) in the first couple minutes of the second half. The Gulls quickly turned on an 18-4 run to take their largest lead of the day, 27 points (63-36) with 13 minutes left on the clock. This run was again led by Brown and Wojcik, who finished with 17 points. EC held on for the remainder of the game as they out-shot the Colonels 44% from the field to their 27%.
Chartier also scored in double-digits with 10 points, pulling down 7 rebounds. Carly Haynes grabbed 7 rebounds, scored 6 and dished out 5 assists. Aubrey Drugan dished out a game-high 6 assists to go along with her 6 points.
The Colonels, who were led by senior Brandy Howard (24 points, 15 rebounds), fall to 6-16 overall, 4-11 in CCC action.
The Gulls are now 15-7, 13-1 in the CCC as they go into the final week of regular season play. EC is on the road again on Tuesday playing Wentworth at 5:30PM.
