Gulls end trip with loss to Warner Southern

AVON PARK, Fla. - Endicott College dropped the final match of its spring trip, falling to NAIA member Warner Southern in three, 30-16, 35-33 and 30-24. The loss drops Endicott to an even .500 at 14-14 (6-3 NECVA), while Warner Southern improves to 9-7.

Reigning NAIA Player of the Week Matt Gizzi (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) notched 15 kills while teammate Shedrick Forbes (Nassau, Bahamas) had 18 kills in the win. Nick Brutus (Lake Worth, Fla.) had nine digs to lead the Royals.

Endicott was paced by A.J. Witkofsky's (Scotia, N.Y.) 12 kills. Ben Foster (Penfield, N.Y.) had 35 assists while Dan Coleman (Mills, Mass.) notched 14 digs for the Blue and Green.

Endicott returns to action on next Tuesday (March 25) as it hosts Mount Ida in an important NECVA New England match-up. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. in Beverly, Massachusetts. Warner Southern looks to extend its three-game winning streak as they face NAIA seventh-ranked Johnson & Wales University (Colo.) on Friday afternoon at 12:00 p.m.
