CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Endicott College men's volleyball team opened its North East Collegiate Volleyball Association schedule with a resounding win on Friday night, downing Lesley University, 3-0, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The Gulls simply overpowered the Lynx in game one, firing their way past the hosts by the tune of 30-9. The 21-point difference was the Gulls most lopsided victory thru their first 20 games played, a mark previously held by a win over Mount Ida (18 point differential).
From there, Endicott rattled off a pair of identical 30-12 victories in games two and three, completing the NECVA New England sweep over Lesley University. Friday night's victory brings the Gulls back to an even .500 with a 3-3 overall record (1-0 NECVA).
The Blue and Green received strong net play from John Emery (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) as the sophomore outside led the Gulls with 11 kills. Freshman Zeke Kubisch (Bethlehem, N.Y./Bethlehem) also put together a well-rounded effort, registering 10 kills, six aces and two blocks in the win. Dan Coleman (Millis, Mass./Millis) notched 12 digs while sophomore Ben Foster (Penfield, N.Y./Penn) had 23 assists. David Olson (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) completed the Endicott attack with eight kills.
Endicott returns to action on Sunday afternoon as they host NECVA SUNYAC division foe Hunter College for a non-league contest. Match time is slated for 12:00 pm in Beverly, Massachusetts.
