Gulls go 1-1, play in Silver Division on Sunday

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott College men's volleyball posted a 1-1 record on the opening day of its March Mania Invitational Tournament in Beverly, Massachusetts. The Gulls will enter the "Silver Division" on Sunday.

Endicott opened the Invitational Tournament with a quick three-game sweep over the SUNY Institute of Technology. The Gulls posted game scores of 30-13, 30-19, and 30-17 in the win.

Jordan Durant (Honolulu, Hawaii) paced the Blue and Green as he posted 15 kills in the win. A.J. Witkofsky (Scotia, N.Y.) had 12 kills and 7.5 blocks for the Gulls. Dan Coleman (Millis, Mass.) and Jeremy Hamel (Industry, Maine) had 13 and eight digs, respectively.

SUNY Institute of Technology was led by Derrick Seay's (Granite Bay, Calif.) 13 kills and seven digs. Jon Brochu (Latham, N.Y.) dished out 16 assists while Alex Rahmel (Cornwall, N.Y.) had five digs for the Wildcats.

Endicott matched-up with eight-ranked Ramapo in the second match of the day. The Roadrunners showed why they carried the second-best ranking in the tournament, as they downed the Gulls, 3-0, with game scores of 30-24, 30-19, and 30-26.

Ramapo was led by Brendan Whitford's (Lyndhurst, N.J.) 12 kills and nine digs. Shane Donohue (Freehold, N.J.) also posted 10 kills in the win. Jairo Sierra (Fair Lawn, N.J.) had 38 assists in the three-game match.

Endicott was led by Jordan Durant's 10 kills. A.J. Witkofsky notched eight kills and 1.5 blocks, while Ben Foster (Penfield, N.Y) had 29 assists. Dan Coleman was able to secure 11 digs for the Blue and Green.

Endicott's 1-1 record on Saturday places them in the "Silver Division." The Gulls will meet No. 13 D'Youville at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
