NEW HAVEN, CT - New Haven may have gotten the jump on Endicott on the scoreboard, taking a 3-0 decision (30-27, 30-19, 30-27) but that did not slow down Gulls senior setter/outside hitter Eric Hunter (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem).
In possibly his last collegiate match, Hunter managed to record nine digs, and take over the No. 1 spot on Endicott's all-time career digs list. Hunter's 815 digs bested Craig Steszewski's 815 digs in 324 games.
Freshman Clay Ostrander (Wheaton, IL/Wheaton-Warrenville) had a solid all-around night for EC, recording 12 kills, three aces and three blocks. Senior Mike Coflesky (Royalston, MA/Athol) added 11 kills and Hunter handed out 25 assists.
Junior George Chapell (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill) contributed three blocks in the loss that ends Endicott's regular season.
The Gulls will await a possible ECAC Tournament berth.
