BEVERLY, MA - MIT used Praveen Pamidimukkala's (Edison, NJ) 16 kills and a .395 hitting percentage to sweep Endicott, 3-0, in a NECVA match Thursday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.
The Engineers, who were ranked in the top 15 of the country last week, improved to 19-8 overall and 8-2 in NECVA action behind wins of 30-25, 30-16 and 34-32. The Gulls fell to 12-14 overall (5-6 NECVA).
Endicott honored seniors Mike Coflesky (Royalston, MA/Athol) and Eric Hunter (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) on Senior Night at Endicott College and the two responded with solid performances. Hunter had four kills, 10 assists and 11 digs, spending time at both outside hitter and setter while Coflesky had 10 kills and four digs.
Freshman outside hitter Clay Ostrander (Wheaton, IL/Wheaton-Warrenville) led the Gulls with 12 kills, seven digs, two aces and two solo blocks while fellow freshman Dan Coleman (Millis, MA/Millis) added 14 digs and three kills.
Endicott will embark on a six-game, eight-day road trip for spring break that begins against Eastern Mennonite Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM while MIT looks to continue its winning ways Tuesday night when it hosts Southern Vermont (7:00 PM).
