Gulls glide past AMCATS, 9-0

PAXTON, Mass. – The Endicott College men’s tennis team blanked the AMCATS of Anna Maria College, 9-0, in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference contest at Paxton Sports Centre on Monday night. The win evens the Gulls record to 7-7 (4-4 TCCC) while the AMCATS drop to 3-10 (1-8 TCCC).

The Gulls began the night by capturing victories in all three doubles matches as \#Dan Murray\# (Coventry, R.I.) and \#Devon Locke\# (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) led the way with an 8-1 win in No.1 doubles. \#Olivier Joggi\# (Stoneham, Mass.) and \#Mike D’Ambra\# (Barrington, R.I.) pulled out a 9-8 victory in No.2 doubles by winning the tie-breaker 7-1, while \#Porter Williams\# (Norwalk, Conn.) and junior \#Justin Nguyen\# (Shelton, Conn.) cleaned up at No. 3 doubles 8-6.

Endicott went on to take all six singles matches as well, with \#Olivier Joggi\# and freshman \#Jake Cohen\# (Barrington, R.I.) earning 6-0, 6-0 victories in their No.5 and No.6 singles matches, respectively. Murray took his No.1 singles match 6-2, 6-1, while Locke (No.2 singles), D’Ambra (No.3 singles), Williams (No.4 singles) completed the sweep.

Both teams will return to the courts again on Wednesday, with the Gulls traveling to face Nichols at 4:00 p.m. and the AMCATS hitting the road to battle Roger Williams at 3:30 p.m.
