ORLANDO, Fla. – LeTourneau University won all but one singles contest and captured two of the game’s three doubles wins as the Yellow Jackets toppled Endicott, 7-2, in non-conference men’s tennis action played on Monday morning in Orlando, Florida. The Gulls were then outmatched against a strong Illinois Wesleyan squad, falling to the Titans 8-1 in their afternoon contest.

\#Dan Murray\# (Coventry, R.I.) and \#Devon Locke\# (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) opened the day with a 9-7 decision over LeTourneau's top doubles pair of Carlos Cantu (Brownsville, Texas) and Wade Sinard (Corpus Christi, Texas). It was downhill from there for the Gulls, however, as the Blue and Green were edged in both No. 2 and 3 doubles play.

In singles action, \#Dan Murray\# stuck to his winning ways by downing Cantu, 6-4 and 6-3. LeTourneau’s David Robbins (Corpus Christi, Texas) eased past Locke, 6-2, 6-0, while Mike Parker (Lindale, Texas) handled \#Mike D’Ambra\# (Barrington, R.I.), 6-3, 6-3. Sinard got past \#Olivier Joggi\# (Stoneham, Mass.) after a tough first set, 6-4 and 6-0, while Paul Haney (Corpus Christi, Texas) and Uli De La Fuente (El Paso, Texas) posted wins of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-0, respectively.

In the afternoon contest, Endicott ran into a hot Illinois Wesleyan University squad that promptly handed the Blue and Green an 8-1 loss. The Gulls’ only win of the contest came in No. 1 doubles as \#Dan Murray\# and \#Devon Locke\# posted an 8-6 win. It was the only point the Gulls would score as the Titans won the two remaining doubles contests and then cruised by sweeping the singles play.
