Colonels edge Endicott in TCCC matchup

MILTON, Mass. – The Endicott College men’s tennis team fell to Curry College, 5-4, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference action on Monday in Milton, Mass. The Colonels improve to 4-4 overall and 3-1 in the TCCC while Endicott dips below .500 overall at 4-5 and 1-2 in conference matches.

Endicott raced out to an early 2-1 lead after doubles play as \#Dan Murray\# (Coventry, R.I.) and \#Devon Locke\# (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) combined to defeat Brian Leahy and Gregory Kirschner, 8-6. \#Mike D’Ambra\# (Barrington, R.I.) and \#Olivier Joggi\# (Stoneham, Mass.) picked up the other win for EC at No. 2 doubles, downing Tyler Dulmage and Ben Radzicki by a score of 8-4. Curry’s lone win in doubles action at No. 3 doubles as Charlie Edlund and J.D. Moyer defeated \#Scott Kitchen\# (Norwell, Mass.) and \#Porter Williams\# (Norwalk, Conn.), 8-5.

Singles play was a different story however, as the Colonels picked up four singles wins to grab the match. Kirschner fell behind in set one but battled back to defeat \#Dan Murray\# at No. 1 singles, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Brian Leahy and J.D. Moyer also picked up three set wins at No.’s 3 and 4 singles while Ben Radzicki defeated \#Jake Cohen\# (Barrington, R.I.), 6-0, 6-4, at No. 6 singles to wrap up the victory. Endicott’s lone singles wins came from No. 2 singles player \#Devon Lock\#e and No. 4 singles player \#Porter Williams\#.

The Blue and Green return to action on Wednesday when they host Western New England College in a TCCC matchup scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Curry also plays on Wednesday as the Colonels host Regis College in a conference match at 3:00 p.m.
