BOSTON, Mass. – The Endicott College men’s tennis team won two of the three doubles flights and four of the six singles flights to take a 6-3 win over Wentworth Institute of Technology in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference match played at the Sportsmen’s Tennis Club in Boston, Mass.

Sophomore \#Porter Williams\# (Norwalk, Conn.) teamed with senior \#Scott Kitchen\# (Norwell, Mass.) to take an 8-2 win over Leopard freshman Dave Filar (Wolcott, Conn.) and sophomore Nathan Dube (Wakefield, R.I.) at number three doubles before freshman Juan Rodriquez (Quito, Ecuador) teamed with senior Dan Alexander (Merrimac, Mass.) to even the score with an 8-6 win over Senior \#Dan Murray\# (Coventry, R.I.) and junior \#Devon Locke\# (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) in number one doubles.

The Gulls took a 2-1 lead after doubles play when freshman \#Olivier Joggi\# (Stoneham, Mass.) teamed with junior \#Mike D’Ambra\# (Barrington, R.I.) to post an 8-5 win over sophomore Nate Gove (Scarborough, Maine) and junior Ross Lyons (Madison, Conn.) at number two doubles.

Endicott took a 4-1 lead after the first two singles matches as D’Ambra defeated Filar, 6-0 and 6-2, and Locke downed Alexander, 6-3, 7-5, and number five and number two singles, respectively. Wentworth cut the lead to 4-2 on a 6-1, 6-2 Rodriguez triumph over Murray, but Kitchen posted a 6-4, 6-3, win over sophomore Josh Welt (Oak Hill, Va.) at number six singles to clinch the match for the Gulls.

Gove defeated Joggi, 6-2, 6-4, at number three singles before Williams used a three-set (6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 1-0 (10-2)) win at number four singles to finish the match.

Winners of two in a row, Endicott improves to 6-6 overall and 3-3 in TCCC play. The Gulls host Salve Regina on Thursday. Wentworth falls to 4-4 (4-3) and hosts Emerson on Thursday.
