BEVERLY, Mass. – Roger Williams University won all three doubles contests to put Endicott in an early 3-0 hole, an advantage that proved insurmountable as the Hawks scored a 6-3 TCCC men’s tennis victory on Saturday afternoon in Beverly, Mass. RWU improves to 5-6 overall and 2-0 in league play, while Endicott falls to 2-4 and 1-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.

The visitor’s top doubles team of Dan Kleitz (Wethersfield, Conn.) and Kevin Erikson (Tolland, Conn.) posted an 8-6 win over Endicott’s \#Dan Murray\# (Coventry, R.I.) and \#Devon Locke\# (St. Croix, Virgin Islands). Jason Pacino (North Reading, Mass.) and Nicholas Hawvermale (Bethlehem, Conn.) teamed-up to defeat \#Olivier Joggi\# (Stoneham, Mass.) and \#Justin Nguyen\# (Shelton, Conn.), 8-2. The third doubles contest also swung the Hawks’ way, as team-captain Kyle Baker (Bolton, Conn.) and Nate Rohman (Topsham, Maine) toppled \#Porter Williams\# (Norwalk, Conn.) and \#Scott Kitchen\# (Norwell, Mass.), 8-3.

Endicott faired far better in singles play as \#Dan Murray\# took down Kevin Erikson, 6-2, 6-2 in top singles action. Dan Kleitz got past Devon Locke, 6-3, 6-4, while Jason Pacino defeated \#Oliver Joggi\#. \#Porter Williams\# and \#Jake Cohen\# (Barrington, R.I.) were winners at No. 4 and 6 singles, respectively, while Roger Williams’ Kyle Baker downed \#Scott Kitchen\#, 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 5 spot.

Endicott looks to rebound on Sunday afternoon when the Gulls host non-conference Southern Maine for a 1:00 p.m. matchup with the Huskies. Roger Williams hopes to extend its winning streak to four matches when the Hawks travel to Springfield, Mass. to take on Western New England College on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
