CCC CHAMPIONS: No. 2 Endicott Prevails Past No. 1 UNE To Secure Three-Peat, 1-0 (2OT)

BIDDEFORD, MAINE — The Endicott field hockey team outlasted the University of New England (UNE), 1-0, in double overtime in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship game on Saturday afternoon at Blue Bolt Field.

In a hard-fought championship battle tied at zero heading into the second extra session, Meaghan Hogan (Chesire, Conn.) finally broke the seal for the Gulls after firing a shot off a rebound from Olivia Lampasona (Watertown, Mass.) to capture Endicott's third consecutive CCC Championship.

Prior to the game-clinching goal, Claire Boncek (Hamden, Conn.) had a crucial defensive save in the third period of play (35:11) that kept the Nor'easters off the board.

Overall, the game was even throughout with Endicott slightly edging UNE in shots (16-14) and penalty corners (10-8).

Meanwhile, in goal for the Gulls, Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) stopped eight shots, including a leaping one-handed save, to help secure the championship victory (11-6).
