Field Hockey Tops Springfield, 7-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team shut out Springfield, 7-0, on Wednesday night at Stagg Field.

The Gulls jumped out to an early 2-0 advantage through the first 30 minutes of action and never looked back.

Blake Braman (Clinton, Conn.) and Olivia Lampasona (Watertown, Mass.) both fed Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.) to help the senior midfielder notch her second consecutive hat trick. Poulin now leads Endicott with eight total goals on the year. 

Jenna Seibold (Reading, Mass.) and Lampasona also scored twice in the victory, with Lampasona's second goal coming courtesy of a Lily Tordone (Barnstable, Mass.) assist. 

BEYOND THE BOX 

  • Endicott recorded its first victory over Springfield in program history (1-2).
  • The Gulls outshot Springfield 32 to four in the matchup, their second-largest differential against an opponent this season. 
  • Endicott has shut out back-to-back opponents for the first time since 2019. (11/2 vs. WNE, 3-0 | 11/7 vs. Roger Williams, 4-0).  

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (5-3, 1-0 CCC) will play the final of its five straight games on the road against Gordon (1-5) on Saturday, October 2 at 11 AM.

Springfield (2-6, 0-2 NEWMAC) will also play away from home when it visits Nichols (6-4) on Saturday, October 2 at 1 PM.
