BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team fell to conference rival the University of New England (UNE), 5-0, on Saturday afternoon at North Field.
After a scoreless first period of play, the Nor'easters received goals from Julia Steeves (Skowhegan, Maine) and Bailey Lynch (Upton, Mass.) at 17:44 and 26:05, respectively, and rode that momentum the rest of the way.
Lynch finished the contest with a pair of goals (26:05 | 50:46), while Jillian Lachapelle (Gilford, N.H.) and Kate Lindmark (Norfolk, Mass.) also buried tallies in the victory.
Despite the outcome, shots (16-14, UNE) and penalty corners (11-9, EC) were fairly even in the contest.
Endicott goalies Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) and Allison Wales (Southport, Conn.) both made four saves apiece in the loss.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Nor'easters have won six games in a row dating back to September 25.
- Endicott suffered its first home loss of the season (4-1).
