HARTFORD, Conn. — The Endicott field hockey team fell to No. 19 nationally ranked Trinity (Conn.), 2-1, on Sunday afternoon.
Down by one in the third period, Meaghan Hogan (Cheshire, Conn.) recorded her first goal of the year at the 37:40 mark to knot the game at one-all.
Following the Gulls' score, Jackie Frank (Longmeadow, Mass.) found the back of the cage with 4:05 remaining in the third period (41:01 overall time) to help the Bantams secure the win on over Endicott.
Prior to Hogan's game-tying score, Trinity held a 1-0 midway through the contest (26:47) behind Caelin Flaherty's (Upton, Mass.) fifth goal of the season.
Meanwhile, Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) had five saves in the loss (1-2).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Both of Endicott's losses this season have come against nationally ranked opponents on the road (No. 16 MIT, No. 19 Trinity).
- Hogan scored her fourth career collegiate goal today.
- Farrin has recorded five or more saves in back-to-back contests (15 total on the year).
- Claire Boncek (Hamden, Conn.) notched her first career defensive save.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Gulls (1-2) are tentatively set to host Connecticut College (0-0) on Tuesday, September 14 at 6 PM. Trinity (3-0) will remain at home and take on Colby College on September 18 at 11:30 AM.
