ECAC DIII NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET

DANBURY, Conn.-  Following a 9-8-2 season that saw Endicott fall to eventual Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) champion Roger Williams 2-1 in the CCC Semifinals, the women have been named the No. 2 seed in the eight team ECAC DIII New England Championship. Endicott will host No. 7 seed Emerson on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in the quarterfinals with the winner advancing to take on the winner of No. 3 Elms and No. 6 Curry on Saturday.

The ECAC Quarterfinal round will be held on Wednesday, November 11, with all contests being hosted by the higher seed. The semifinals and finals, to be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 14 and 15, will be held at highest remaining seed in the tournament.

Emerson advanced to the ECAC tournament after an 11-6-1 regular season that saw them finish with a 3-6-1 record in NEWMAC play. The Gulls are 4-1 all-time against Emerson but have not faced the Lions since 1998.

The two squads had three common opponents in 2015 in Babson, Gordon and Wellesley. Endicott defeated Gordon 1-0 and fell to both Babson and Wellesley by scores of 1-0 and 2-0. Emerson defeated Gordon 2-1 in OT, tied Wellesley 2-2 in 2OT, and fell to Babson 2-1.

Endicott has competed in the ECAC DIII New England Tournament four previous times, advancing to the championship match on three occasions, winning in 2012.

No. 1 Wentworth (16-2-2, 8-1-0 CCC) – The Leopards fell to Gordon in penalty kicks (4-2) in the CCC Semifinals.

No. 3 Elms (16-4-1, 8-1 NECC) – The Blazers fell to Lesley 1-0 in the NECC Championship.

No. 4 University of New England (11-7-0, 6-3-0 CCC) – The Nor'Easters lost to Gordon 2-1 in OT in the CCC Quarterfinals.

No. 5 Framingham State (11-7-2, 4-1-2 MASCAC) – The Rams fell to Worcester State 3-0 in the MASCAC Semifinals.

No. 6 Curry (13-6-1, 3-5-1 CCC) – The Colonels fell to Wentworth 4-0 in the CCC Quarterfinals.

No. 8 Smith (7-7-5, 3-3-4 NEWMAC) – The Pioneers fell to Wheaton 2-0 in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals.
