2015 Endicott Women's Soccer Preview

2015 Video Season Preview

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's soccer team will open its 2015 season at home on Wednesday, September 2 at 7 p.m. against North Shore rival Salem State in the first North Shore Cup competition of the year for any school. Following the opener against the Vikings, the Gulls take to the road for three of the next four matches including the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener at the University of New England on Saturday September 12, before returning home for a match on Friday, September 18 to open up conference play at the Nest as they take on the Bison of Nichols at 4 p.m.

RETURNING CAST: Endicott will look to a strong group of returners to lead a balanced roster in 2015. The Gulls welcome back three All-CCC performers from 2014 in First Team All-CCC forward Paige Marinelli (Burlington, Conn.) who was also named NSCAA New England All-Region Fourth Team, and All-CCC Honorable Mention performers in midfielder LeeAnn Card (Paxton, Mass.) and defender Shannon Hickey (East Haddam, Conn.). Seniors Betsy Albiani (Stoneham, Mass.) and Katherine Chipman (Brunswick, Maine) will look to anchor the back line alongside Hickey while Laura Wysocki (Somers, Conn.) and Ashley Mueskes (Georgetown, Mass.) complete a strong returning midfield squad and Madison McKinley (Shrewsbury, Mass.) pairs with Marinelli to provide leadership up front.

BACK TO BACK: The women will take to the road for two straight contests against 2014 NCAA DIII Women's Soccer Tournament qualifiers in NEWMAC winner Springfield and Roger Williams on September 22 and September 26, respectively. 

CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULE: The Gulls have nine matches in the month of October, seven of which will be hosted at Endicott. The Gulls will play host to a trio of non-conference opponents consisting of UMass. Boston on Thursday, October 1 at 4 p.m., Eastern Connecticut State on October 7 at 7 p.m., and Tufts a week later on October 14 at 4 p.m.

SAVE THE DATES: Endicott will play host to Eastern Nazarene for their Homecoming match on Saturday, October 3 at 4:30 p.m., and will then face off against Western New England on Saturday, October 17 at 1 p.m. for their Senior Day contest. 

PRESEASON PLAUDITS: Endicott was picked to finish second in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Preseason Poll.

YEAR IN REVIEW: The Gulls finished the 2014 with a 10-5-4 record overall and a 6-2-1 record in CCC play and ended their post season run with a loss in the CCC Quarterfinals.
