Mueskes and Chipman Earn CCC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week Awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- After posting back-to-back shutouts in a 2-0 week, Ashley Mueskes (Georgetown, Mass.) and Katherine Chipman (Brunswick, Maine) were named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for the week ending October 31. The awards were announced by the conference office earlier today.

For Mueskes, the Offensive Player of the Week honor is the first of her career and comes after a week in which she scored one game-winner and assisted on the other. In the team's 1-0 win over cross-town rival Gordon, Mueskes' corner kick went as an assist as Sharlotte Pernice (West Springfield, Mass.) would bury the eventual game-winner. In the CCC Quarterfinals against Salve Regina, Mueskes scored in the 8th minute in what would be the only goal as Endicott avenged a 1-0 loss from a week earlier.

Chipman, who was recently named to the All-CCC First Team, also earned her first career weekly honor after leading a defensive unit that produced lock down play on the week. In the 1-0 win over Gordon, the Gulls surrendered just four total shots and only one on goal. The defense followed up that performance by holding the Seahawks to just three total shots in 90 minutes of play as the Gulls locked up their seventh shutout of the season.

The Gulls have now advanced to the CCC Semifinal round that will be hosted by Roger Williams on Wednesday night at 5:00 p.m. In the regular season matchup between the two schools, the Gulls and Hawks battled to a 1-1 2OT tie.
