CCC TOURNAMENT: Endicott Tabbed No. 4 Seed In Upcoming CCC Women’s Soccer Championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- After posting an 8-7-2 record overall in regular season play that saw the Gulls go 5-3-1 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matches, the Endicott women's soccer team has been tabbed the No. 4 seed as was announced by the Conference Commissioner on Wednesday evening.

The championship tournament will begin with quarterfinals matchups on campus sites this coming Saturday with Endicott set to host the No. 5 seed, Salve Regina at 3:30 p.m. The Seahawks posted a 9-8-1 record on the year and received the No. 5 seed after going 4-4-1 in conference play.

PREVIOUS MATCHUP: In the regular season meeting between the two teams in Newport, R.I., the Seahawks scored in the 85th minute to claim a 1-0 victory over the Gulls. It was just the second win for Salve Regina all-time over the Gulls as Endicott is now 19-2-1 against the Seahawks.

PLAYOFF HISTORY: Endicott has defeated Nichols all four times during its current CCC title run picking up three wins by 5-1 scores (2012-14), and another victory by a 5-3 score (2011). The last team other than Endicott to win the CCC championship is Nichols, who won its first-ever CCC championship in 2010 over Roger Williams by a 5-0 score.

PLAYOFF HISTORY: The women have now qualified for the conference tournament for the last 18 consecutive years and 20 of the 21 years since Endicott moved to NCAA Division III which includes all 16 years since joining the CCC. The Gulls will be in search of their tenth CCC Title and sixth under 11th year head coach Jodi Kenyon whose program last hoisted the Championship trophy two years ago during the 2013 season.

ENDICOTT (8-7-2, 5-3-1 CCC) | STATISTICS | SCHEDULE: The Gulls finished with a winning record in conference play for 20th straight year as the current senior class finished regular season play with a career record in CCC play of 27-7-2 (.778). The Gulls are led up front by Ashley Mueskes (Georgetown, Mass.) and Paige Marinelli (Burlington, Conn.) as the duo have combined to post 10 goals, eight assists and 28 points on the year, while the back line is anchored by Betsy Albiani (Stoneham, Mass.), Katherine Chipman (Brunswick, Maine), LeeAnn Card (Paxton, Mass.) and Nicole Taylor (North Easton, Mass.). Goalkeeper Caroline Armbruster (Stowe, Vt.) has recorded a personal record of 7-3-2 in her time as starter with four shutouts.

SALVE REGINA (9-8-1, 4-4-1 CCC) | STATISTICS | SCHEDULE: The Seahawks ended the regular season with a .500 record in conference play that includes a 4-5-1 record on the road. Salve Regina is led by Abby McMackin (Walpole, Mass.) who finished the regular season with 10 goals which tied for third in the CCC. Goalie Carly Pala (Milford, Conn.) posted a 6-6-0 record during the season.
