KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The Endicott women's soccer team has been awarded the NSCAA College Women's Team Academic Award for the sixth consecutive year as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) on Wednesday afternoon.

The NSCAA annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field. A total of 868 soccer teams (308 men, 560 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 academic year.

Endicott women's soccer Head Coach Jodi Kenyon had this to say about the team's 3.32 Team GPA and the honor:

"It has everything to do with our players and their commitment to academics and the type of student-athletes that we recruit here. It's a testament to some of our program goals and objectives as far as achieving high standards both in the classroom, community and on the field and we want to continue to have that be the standard that we are setting," said Kenyon.

Endicott's women's soccer team has earned this distinction eight times (2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015) since the award was instituted in 1996 and placed 13 student-athletes on the 2014 Academic All-CCC team.

"It is always one of our goals to do better than the previous semester and to continue to increase our overall team GPA," said Kenyon.

The program's record over the last eight seasons in which they have received this award is an impressive 107-40-16 overall and 61-11-3 in conference play as the team has also claimed two CCC titles, two NCAA Second Round appearances, four CCC finals appearances and an ECAC DIII New England Championship.

The Gulls finished the 2014 season 10-5-4 with a loss to Wentworth in the CCC quarterfinals. Throughout the run of six consecutive NSCAA Team Academic Awards, the Gulls have placed 50 student-athletes on the CCC Academic All-Conference teams while seeing four individuals receive CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District teams, with one individual reciving Second Team All-American honors.

A total of 217 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized and Endicott is proud to announce that both the men's and women's soccer teams made this list, marking the third time in school history that both teams have received the honor in the same year.

Of the 217 schools to have their men's and women's programs recognized, Endicott, Roger Williams and Wentworth represent the Commonwealth Coast Conference
