Lennon Tabs Rookie of the Week Honors for the Third Straight Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. –The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced their weekly awards and  freshman Meghan Lennon (Canton, Mass.) was awarded her third straight Rookie of the Week honor for her efforts in the Gulls 2-0 week against conference opponents Univ. New England and Nichols. The Blue and Green currently sit at 7-1, (3-0 CCC).

Lennon posted an impressive four goals and two assists in the first half of the close 14-9 victory over Univ. New England. In the final two minutes of the half at a tied game she scored back to back goals to take a two goal edge entering halftime. Along with her seven points the rookie picked up two groundballs, five draw controls and caused two Nor'easter turnovers. In the 17-3 decision over Nichols she scored one goal on her only shot on goal of the game while picking up an assist.

The last time an Endicott women's lacrosse player was tabbed with an Athlete of the Week honor three times in a row was back in 2008 when Kellie Cunningham '11 earned Rookie of the Week honors in the final three weeks of the 2008 season that led to the programs third conference championship.

Endicott will play next tomorrow, Tuesday April 1st at 4:00 p.m. at Endicott Stadium against CCC opponent Wentworth.
