2014 IWLCA Division I, II & III Academic Honor Roll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. – Four Endicott women's lacrosse scholar-athletes were honored by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) as senior Ryan Socolow (Westford, Mass.) and juniors Michelle Truncali (Unionville, Conn.), Ellie Clayman (Beverly, Mass.), and Kelsey Drought (North Kingstown, R.I.) were named to the 2014 Division III Academic Honor Roll.

The IWLCA Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who were nominated by their schools, are at least junior status academically, and sport a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or greater. The IWLCA named 363 players across 126 NCAA Division III institutions this year. Fourteen of those student-athletes came from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) with Endicott leading the charge with four individual honorees.

As a team, the Gulls women's lacrosse team was listed one week ago on the 2014 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll Squads for maintaining a team GPA of at least 3.0. Endicott maintained a 3.23 GPA through the 2014 season that saw the Blue and Green win their ninth consecutive CCC Championship and qualify for NCAA Second Round postseason play for the second year in-a-row.

Socolow, a Liberal Studies major with a concentration in Sociology and Sexuality, held a 3.72 GPA upon graduation this past May. Socolow had a 9.92 goals against average with 114 saves (.401 save percentage) in 18 games this past season. He went 14-4 in the cage with over 1,000 goalie minutes logged.

Truncali, an Exercise Science major with a 3.75 cumulative GPA, was Socolow's backup this past season and in two games of action had a 3.29 goals against average with nine saves (.750 save percentage).

Clayman, a Marketing major with a 3.68 GPA since transferring into Endicott from Northwestern, shined in her first season with the Gulls with 47 points on 37 goals and 10 assists. She added 29 draw controls, 20 caused turnovers, and 25 groundballs. Clayman was named an All-CCC First Team midfielder in 2014.

Drought, a Graphic Design major with a minor in Environmental Studies, sported a 3.55 cumulative GPA through this past season while defensive depth for the Blue and Green with 12 groundballs, five caused turnovers, and five draw controls in 16 games played.
