CCC Athletes of the Week Release
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced today that freshman Meghan Lennon (Canton, Mass.) claimed this week's Rookie of the Week nod for her efforts in the Gulls 1-1 week. This marks the second straight week that the Blue and Green earn a Rookie of the Week accolade as Lennon's fellow freshman Emily Whitney (Rye, N.H.) earned the honor last week.
Lennon is strong on the attack and uses her speed to create scoring opportunities as she tallied four goals this week.
This past week Endicott saw nationally ranked, NESCAC foe, #18 Bowdoin where the Gulls dropped their first game of the season 5-15, but Lennon gave huge efforts as she was able to tally a goal against a strong Polar Bears defense that currently holds a slim 7.83 GAA. In their game against non-conference opponent Wheaton the freshman helped guide the Blue and Green to a 12-9 victory, which marked the programs first win over Wheaton. Lennon posted three goals and capped it off with a pair of groundballs and two caused turnovers.
The Gulls are currently 3-1 overall and will play next on Wednesday, March 19th when they hit the road for the first time this season traveling to NESCAC opponent Bates for a 4:30 p.m. start.
