Clayman and Whitney Take Home Offensive and Rookie of the Week Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-  The office of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced that women's lacrosse players Ellie Clayman (Beverly, Mass.) and Emily Whitney (Rye, N.H.) have been named as the CCC Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively.  The duo received their honors after helping the Blue and Green to a perfect opening week of play that included a dramatic 13-12 overtime win over Wellesley and an emphatic 15-9 win over Babson in back to back home games.

Junior Ellie Clayman helped the Gulls to a 2-0 opening week as she posted an impressive 10 points in her first two games in an Endicott uniform. Clayman played a key role in the overtime, comeback victory over Wellesley as she posted four goals and an assist including the game winning goals in overtime. In game two against Babson, the junior posted two back to back goals to go along with her four total. Clayman is currently the Gulls' leader in points and goals.

Freshman Emily Whitney also played an impressive role in the teams perfect week. In her first two games dawning a Gulls uniform, the rookie posted an impressive six goals and two assists while playing every minute for the Blue and Green. In the comeback victory over Wellesley, she scored the first Endicott goal on the season to mark her career first. In the win over Babson she scored three consecutive goals in less than two minutes to help secure the victory.

Clayman, Whitney and the rest of the Gulls now focus their sights on nationally ranked NESCAC foe Bowdoin, who is currently ranked #18 in the most recent IWLCA poll.
