Reining CCC Champions, Women’s Lacrosse, Unveils 2014 Schedule

2014 Endicott Women's Lacrosse Schedule

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's lacrosse team, that saw their eight consecutive CCC Championship in 2013, has released their 2014 schedule. The Gulls went 13-8 (7-1 CCC) last season while making program history by reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament.  Under the leadership of Head Coach Meghan Fitzgerald the team is ready to take on 2014 and be a top contender in the CCC and make waves on the national level.

The upcoming season will include a competitive non-conference schedule which includes, Bowdoin, Tufts, Bates and Babson. These contests will prepare the Blue and Green for CCC play and the tournament come April 26th.

To start off Endicott will host four non-conference games before they start the CCC schedule. First they will kick off their season on a newly surfaced Endicott Stadium against Wellesley on March 5th, on the 8th they will then host a tough Babson team who edged the Gulls by a slim margin in 2013. The Blue and Green will host Bowdoin on March 11th, who ended last season nationally ranked at #8 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. They will then finish up their home turf string of games with a meeting with Wheaton who the squad has not seen since 2004.

Endicott will travel to Bates for the first road game of the season on March 19th. Bates currently leads the Gulls 4-0 in the program meetings which started in 2010.

To kick off the CCC schedule the Gulls will travel to Roger Williams on March 22nd. The contest will start a four game run of conference matchups that include University of New England, Nichols and Wentworth all of whom the Blue and Green defeated last season.

To break up the end of the regular season schedule the Gulls will face two non-conference opponents in Southern Maine and Tufts. Last season the squad defeated the Huskies by a large margin and fell to regional powerhouse the Jumbos by one goal.

To wrap up regular season play Endicott will face Gordon and Salve Regina before facing conference rivals Curry and Western New England. The Gulls defeated Western New England in the CCC Championship last season after avenging their only conference loss the Golden Bears handed the Blue and Green in the last game of the regular season.

Endicott has only lost two conference games in the last six seasons and both of those losses have come from the Golden Bears.  Coach Fitzgerald holds an impressive 44-2 conference record and will look to continue the team's success in 2014.

Should Endicott capture their ninth conference championship in program history on May 3rd in the CCC title game, the Gulls will anticipate competing in the NCAA Division III Tournament which takes place starting on Wednesday, May 7th with First Round action and ending on Sunday, May 18th with the NCAA Division III Championship Game.

Each home game on the 2014 schedule will be made available online for those who cannot attend via live statistics and a live webcast. Check the schedule page for links to those offerings.
