Women's Tennis Takes Down Curry, 7-2

MILTON, Mass. — The Endicott women's tennis team defeated Curry, 7-2, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on Monday evening. 

The duo of Ashley Klauck (Magnolia, Texas) and Yolanda Mendonca (Albany, N.Y.) stood out for the Blue and Green with triumphs in singles and doubles play. 

Klauck and Mendonca manufactured an 8-0 sweep at No. 3 doubles before winning in singles matches (No. 6, 6-0, 6-0) and (No. 4, 7-5, 7-5), respectively.

Meanwhile, at No. 2 doubles Abbey Fleming (Wolfeboro, N.H.) and Samantha Hartmann (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J.) turned in an 8-4 victory.

The remaining Gulls who produced singles victories included Fleming at No. 5 (6-3, 6-1), Amber Woods (Scarborough, Maine) at No. 2 (6-2, 6-2), and Ana Mar Molina (Sachse, Texas) at No. 3 (6-2, 6-0).

  • Fleming remains undefeated with a team-best four wins in singles play.
  • The Gulls are 13-1 against CCC opponents dating back to 9/18/21. 
  • Hartmann has won in doubles with four different partners this season.

Endicott (6-2, 5-0 CCC) visits Division II Assumption University tomorrow at 3:00 PM. Curry (0-10, 0-4 CCC) travels to Roger Williams on Wednesday, October 11 at 4:00 PM.
