MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Endicott student-athletes Lejla Guster (Wethersfield, Conn.) and Ripley Uyeda (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) competed at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) New England Regionals over the weekend.
In A Singles Draw play, Guster dropped her lone match of the tournament to Sarah Youngberg of the host Wesleyan Cardinals by a 6-3, 6-0 score. Youngberg went on to earn runner-up honors in the A Singles Draw.
Uyeda played a gritty match of her own, but also came up short against Jaskirat Kaur (Mount Holyoke) via a 1-6, 7-5, 0-1 (4) decision.
In doubles, the Gulls' duo lost to Amherst in the first round by an 8-5 score.
