Venditti Named To 2023 NEWISA Senior Bowl

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott senior women's soccer defender Angelina Venditti (East Lyme, Conn.) has been named to the 2023 New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl for her outstanding play in the Gulls' 2023 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship run.

This year, the NEWISA Senior Bowl will be held at Clark University's Granger Athletic Complex in Worcester, Mass on December 2, 2023, at 12 PM. The game brings together student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, and III colleges/universities in New England for one final contest following the conclusions of their last collegiate season(s).

Venditti is one of 30 student-athletes recognized on the Division III team and is accompanied by Sydney Gillingham (Standish, Maine) and Emily Martin (Georgetown, Maine) from the University of New England (UNE) and Leah Barbieri (Glastonbury, Conn.) from Hartford as the CCC's representatives in the game.

"The 2023 NEWISA Senior Bowl Selections are an impressive and impactful group of student-athletes that have set the standard for collegiate soccer in New England over their athletic careers," said NEWISA President Tom McGuinness. "On behalf of New England's soccer community, NEWISA thanks these players for their dedication, effort, and commitment to the game and congratulates them all on a successful college soccer career."

YEAR IN REVIEW

Venditti was a vital piece of the Gulls' defense, as she started all 22 games and played the full 90 minutes on 16 occasions. For her strong defensive play, she was named to the All-CCC First Team, her second consecutive season with an all-conference appearance. As one of Endicott's (13-5-4, 4-0-4 CCC) three captains, she guided the 2023 Endicott defense to a minuscule 0.59 goals against average (GAA), the best in the CCC, which ranks as the third-lowest mark in program history, and 29th nationally among all NCAA Division III programs. She also was one of the main components of a defense that posted a conference-leading 14 shutouts on the year and made a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013.
