NCAA Tournament Preview: Women's Soccer Travels To Messiah For Date With Williams

GRANTHAM, Pa. — The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's soccer champion Endicott College (13-4-4) will travel to Messiah University this Saturday, November 11, for its first round matchup with Williams College (9-3-5). The match will take place at Shoemaker Field, and is slated for a 3:30 PM kickoff.

The Gulls advance to the NCAA regionals after their 1-0 CCC championship win at Western New England this past Saturday, earning the CCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Williams enters the NCAA tournament thanks to an at-large bid, as they were defeated on penalty kicks, 5-4, in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tournament by No. 22 nationally ranked Bowdoin.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Endicott led the CCC in total goals scored (45), goals against-average (0.52), shots (421), corners (135), margin (1.62), shutouts (14), and ranked second in save percentage (.835) and scoring average (2.143).
  • Williams ranked tops in the NESCAC in corners (99), second for goals against-average (0.59) and margin (1.18), third in shots (284) and save percentage (.848), and fifth in scoring average (1.765).
  • Each team is ranked third in their respective regional rankings (Williams region one, Endicott region two).
  • The Gulls are led by their six All-CCC performers, which include first-teamers Grace Jewett (Millis, Mass.), Angelina Venditti (East Lyme, Conn.), Rosalina Caliri (East Greenwich, R.I.), and Callie Neils (Brentwood, N.H.); second-teamer Carly Matthews (Suffield, Conn.); and third-teamer Riley Rischitelli (North Brookfield, Mass.).
  • The Ephs are led by NESCAC Player of the Year, Jacquelin Nordhoff (Seattle, Wash.). She was accompanied on the NESCAC all-first team by Tori Huang (Arlington, Mass.) and Paige Nelson (Sudbury, Mass.).

WHAT'S NEXT

The winner of the Williams and Endicott match is set to face the winner of Messiah versus Westfield State on Sunday, November 12 at 3 PM, again at Shoemaker Field.
