Klindtworth, Women's Soccer Take Down Emerson, 1-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team was triumphant over Emerson College by a 1-0 score on a rainy Wednesday night at Hempstead Stadium.

The Gulls dominated offensive play throughout the matchup, setting up several great scoring chances to jump out on top. However, the Lions' defense refused to back down and stood tall against the challenge of Endicott's aggressive offensive attack.

Gabrielle Klindtworth (Guilderland, N.Y.) was finally able to break through for the Gulls in the 76th minute when she sniped a shot into the top right corner of the net from 20-plus yards out over the leap of Emerson's outstretched goalkeeper.

The tally was her first career game-winner (first goal this season, third career).

Prior to Klindtworth's marker, the Gulls outshot Emerson 21-4 (10 saves).

Defensively, Endicott was impressive once again as it allowed just seven total shots with only two on net.

Carly Matthews (Suffield, Conn.) and Angelina Venditti (East Lyme, Conn.) anchored the Gulls' back line, each playing the full 90 through the dreary conditions.
