Women's Soccer Knocks Off Curry In CCC Quarterfinals, 3-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team defeated Curry, 3-0, in the quarterfinal round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, Riley Rischitelli (North Brookfield, Mass.) got the Gulls on the board in the 50th minute with a low liner. The goal was set up thanks to Rischitelli's follow-up of a Kelly Talerico (Portland, Conn.) saved shot.

The Blue and Green added another in the 57th minute, as Rischitelli came through once again, when she dribbled through a crowd of defenders and sent a low blast into the left side of the net.

Some late insurance came from Elizabeth Healy (Plymouth, Mass.) in the 83rd minute. Lily Miller (Warwick, R.I.) found Healy in the middle of the box with a long cross-field pass from the right wing, which Healy one-timed into the net for the tally.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls defeated the Colonels 3-0 in their previous meeting this season (October 18, home).
  • Reigning CCC Defensive Player of the Week Rosalina Caliri (East Greenwich, R.I.) collected four saves in the match, improving her record to 11-4-4 on the year.
  • Rischitelli recorded the second multi-goal game of her career (October 3 at Salem State).
  • Talerico notched her second assist of the season.
