Beverly, MA-- On a cold and windy night, the Gulls hosted Commonwealth Coast Conference rival, Salve Regina University. The Gulls scored five goals to Salve's two goals, giving EC the commanding victory.
Scoring in the first 26 seconds the game, the Gulls found the back of the net on their first shot. Caitlin D'Amario split the defense and found an oncoming Stacey Lubas in the six- yard box. Lubas turned and fired a shot on goal, giving EC the early lead. The Seahawks tied the game at one after a breakdown in the EC defense.
Play was even between the two teams, with much of the play in the midfield. EC took their second lead of the night with minutes remaining in the first half. Paula McGinn ripped a shot from the right side, and found the left side netting, scoring the second goal for the Gulls. However, the Seahawks tied the game again, off a free kick from the 18-yard line.
The second half proved to be all Endicott, as the Gulls scored three goals. In the 62nd minute, Caitlin D'Amario scored her first of two goals on the night. Ten minutes later, D'Amario struck again for the Gulls, firing a shot over the keeper's reach. Capping off the score for the Gulls was Lubas. Volleying a flick by D'Amario in the box, Lubas netted her second and teams' final goal.
The Gulls close out their regular season play this Tuesday, as they host the Nor'easters of University of New England. Kick off is 4pm.
