Quincy, MA-- The EC women's soccer team scored two first half goals, and two second half goals, defeating Commonwealth Coast Conference member Eastern Nazarene College, 4-0.
From the start, the Gulls dominated play. They were on the scoreboard early, when a Caitlin D'Amario cross, found Margreta Weber in the 7th minute. Weber shot the ball past the ENC goalkeeper, giving the Gulls their first tally. The EC attack continued to put pressure on the ENC defense. In the 39th, the Gulls found the back of the net for the second goal of the game. Picking up a loose ball in the box, co-captain Stacey Lubas passed the ball to junior Jillian Zagura who fired a shot from 20 yards out. The ball sailed over the ENC keeper, hit side netting, and gave the Gulls a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
Eight minutes into the 2nd half, the Gulls continued their scoring ways. This time around, Zagura assisted on a goal. Off of a Zagura corner, D'Amario ripped a shot at net, and as a result, the Gulls had a 3-0 lead. Co-captain Leah Walters finished off the scoring in the 58th minute. Sprinting to the ball, Walters finished by passing the ball perfectly into the back of the net.
