Beverly, MA-- The Endicott women's soccer team continued their winning streak with a 4-0 win over Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent, Colby-Sawyer College.
Sophomore forward, Caitlin D'Amario scored first for the Gulls. D'Amario fired a shot from the outside, and placed the ball perfectly into the back of the net. Senior co-captain Leah Walters would score the second goal for the Gulls shortly after. Attacking at speed, Walters was able to get in behind the Colby-Sawyer defense, and score the second goal for the Gulls. Freshman forward Paula McGinn would score her first collegiate goal, and give the Gulls their third tally of the game with 15 minutes remaining in the first half.
The Gulls continued their attack in the same fashion in the second half, but were unable to capitalize. A hand ball in the Colby-Sawyer box led to a penalty kick for Endicott. Co-captain Stacey Lubas stepped up to the penalty kick, and calmly shot the ball past the diving Colby-Sawyer goalkeeper, capping the score at four.
Sarah Nichols was solid in goal for the Gulls. With the help of her defenders, Lauren Suarez, Allison Lyons, Staci Wiencko, Katie Cederberg and Kelly Cosgrove, Nichols recorded her fourth consecutive shutout, and fifth of the 2004 season.
The women travel to Wentworth this Wednesday for a 7pm kickoff. The game marks a rematch of the CCC Championship last year. EC won the game 2-1.
