Boston, MA-- After a scoreless 100-plus minutes, the Endicott women's soccer team suffered their first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) loss in the 2004 season. Wentworth defeated EC in sudden death, double overtime by a score of 1-0.
Wentworth scored with 3:35 left in the second overtime to lift the Leopards over the Gulls. Endicott out shot Wentworth by a 20 to 15 margin. Sarah Nichols made three saves in the net for the Gulls and Diane Piersall made eight for the Leopards.
The Gulls were on a 19 game CCC winning streak. Their last regular season conference loss dates back to September 14, 2002. Last nights game marked the first time in the nine-game series, beginning in 1998 that EC lost to Wentworth.
The Gulls are back in action this Saturday, when they travel to CCC rival Nichols College. Kick off is 10AM.
