Judd, Moss, and Leighton Captain the Gulls in 2008

Sept. 9, 2007

Beverly, MA - Senior Emily Judd (Peabody, MA/Peabody HS) and juniors Molly Moss (Yarmouth, ME/North Yarmouth Academy) and Katie Leighton (Saco, ME/Thornton Academy) have been selected to captain the Gulls in 2008 as they seek to win their third conference championship in as many seasons.

Judd was a co-captain in the 2007 campaign, and has stacked up numerous accolades in her first three seasons with the Gulls. She was the 2006 CCC Defender of the Year, a 2006 First Team All-Conference selection, and 2007 Second Team All-Conference selection. Regionally, she was named to the ECAC First Team in 2006. She possesses the ability to threaten an opponent on both the offensive and defensive ends, consistently ranking among the Gulls team leaders in points as well as caused turnovers and possessions.

Moss has been a starter for the Gulls since she arrived as a freshman, helping the Gulls capture their first CCC championship banner. Her leadership is recognized by her teammates and coaches every time she takes the field. Following a 2007 CCC Honorable Mention appointment, Moss was then selected post-season as one of two Gulls to be recognized by the IWLCA as a Second-Team All-Region All-American (Pilgrim Region). Moss primarily plays a midfield position, and can be crucial to the team's success as both an attacker and defender.

Leighton was Endicott's only player to receive a place on the CCC First Team in 2007. She was recognized as one of the best defenders in the conference after turning in her best season to date for the Gulls. From her position at defense in 2008, Leighton will again be called on to shut down opponents' top players and work within the Gulls defensive unit to regain possession. Leighton will look to repeat her success on the field this season in pursuit of another winning record. She was also a member of the Gulls' women's soccer team that advanced to the NCAA Sweet-Sixteen in 2006.

The Gulls will compete in a fall play-day at Wellesley College on Saturday, September 29th.
