BRISTOL, RI - Freshmen Valerie Feldman (Albany, NY/Guilderland) scored five goals to lead the Gulls to a 17-11 win over Commonwealth Coast Conference rival Roger Williams University.
The Gulls jumped out to an early lead outscoring the Hawks 7-2 over the first 22-minutes of the opening half. Roger Williams battled back scoring five goals in the final eight minutes to make it an 8-7 game at half time.
Feldman got things going for EC in the second half scoring her second goal of the game just 50-seconds into the frame. RWU answered with back-to-back scores to keep it a one goal game before Feldman and Sara Gunter (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk) sparked Endicott to an eight goal barrage over the final 26-minutes.
The Gulls outscored Roger Williams 8-2 during that time, getting a pair of goals from Gunter and Samantha Morin (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk). Molly Moss (Yarmouth, ME/North Yarmouth Academy) and Kristen Micho (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) also added goals for Endicott.
Despite the Hawks 21-18 advantage in ground balls and 16-12 advantage in draw controls, EC out shot RWU 32-21 leading to the six goal victory.
Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH/Gould Academy) and Molly Hamel (North Yarmouth, ME/Greely) each played a half in net for Endicott with Curry picking up the win after allowing seven goals on 14 shots in the first.
The Gulls improve to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in CCC play. EC returns to action on Tuesday when the Gulls head to Babson Park, MA to take on Babson College at 4:00 pm. Endicott returns home on Saturday March 31 when it hosts CCC rival Nichols College at 3:00 pm.
