BEVERLY, MA - Alex Pearce (Underhill, VT/Kimball Union) scored three first half goals to power the Gulls to a 16-2 win over the Keene State College Owls on a rain soaked Monday afternoon in Beverly, MA.
EC was dominant from the get go as sophomore Sara Gunter (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk) scored just under three minutes into game, effectively opening the flood gates for the Gulls. Endicott would go on to score 11 unanswered goals in the first half en route to the 16-2 win.
Freshman Valerie Feldman (Albany, NY/Guilderland) continued her impressive rookie campaign beating Owls goalie Jen Gearing (Westfield, MA/Westfield) four times, running her season total to a team high 24 goals, Feldman also added two assists.
KSC would break Molly Hamel's (North Yarmouth, ME.Greely) shutout bid with 17-minutes left to play in the game when Lauren Cooper (Danbury, CT/Danbury) finally put a ball past the sophomore goalie. Cooper would add a second goal with just 28-seconds to play making it 15-2 before freshman Breanna Cottone (Middleton, MA/Masconomet) found Feldman for the Gulls 16th goal.
Hamel earned the win for Endicott as she turned away six shots in her first start of the season. The win improves the Gulls overall record to 5-2 (2-0 CCC) while the Owls fall to 2-3 (1-0 LEC). KSC returns home to take on Monadonock Region foe Franklin Pierce College (Div. II) on April 4, while the Gulls head to New London, NH to take on Colby-Sawyer College on Wednesday April 4, at 3:30 pm. EC returns home on Tuesday April 10, to play Curry College at 4:00 pm on the turf.
