Waltham, MA - The Endicott College women's lacrosse team scored 11 straight goals en route to a 16-1 win over Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Regis College on Saturday afternoon at Wellesley College's lacrosse facility.
Six different Gulls posted a pair of goals each, and four others chipped in with goals of their own on converting on 38 shot attempts through the afternoon. Sophomore attack Caitlin Hughes (St. Johnsbury, VT/St. Johnsbury Academy) paced the offense with a pair of goals, she also found teammate Rebecca Bushnell (Guilford, CT/Guilford) for an assist.
EC opened the game with eight straight goals in the first half, scoring three more before the Regis could respond in the second half. The Gulls closed out the afternoon with five unanswered goals over the final 21-minutes.
Kristen Micho (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) also played well for EC picking up a pair of goals and an assist, while Alex Pearce (Underhill, VT/Kimball Union) and Annie Willcox (Glen Mills, PA/Archmere Academy) each added a pair of goals.
Jevon Biffinger (Avon, CT) put Regis on the board with an unassisted goal eight minutes into the second half. Sophomore goalkeeper Molly Hamel (N. Yarmouth, ME/Greely) made four saves, allowing just one goal, to pick up the win for EC.
Endicott improves to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the win. The Gulls return to action on Wednesday April 18th when they take the short trip to Wenham to square off against rivals Gordon College at 4:00 pm. Endicott returns home Saturday April 21 as the Gulls play host to New England College at 1:00 pm on the turf.
