BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott College women's lacrosse team successfully defended their Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship on Saturday as they defeated Gordon College, 13-12, to earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III National Tournament beginning this week.
Endicott (13-5) will hit the road and travel to Hartford, Connecticut to square off with Trinity College (11-4) for the opening round of the NCAA tournament on Wednesday afternoon. The Gulls earned the CCC automatic qualification while Trinity received an at-large bid following their upset loss to Williams in the NESCAC Tournament. This is Endicott's second straight year in the Division III tournament while Trinity is making their first appearance since 1998.
The Gulls and the Bantams are scheduled for a 4:00 PM face-off on the campus of Trinity College on May 9th. The winner of Wednesday's contest will then travel to Pennsylvania on Saturday to take on the Centennial Conference runner-up, Gettysburg College.
