BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott College women's lacrosse team wrapped up its 2007 regular season with a lopsided 20-3 win over Commonwealth Coast Conference rival Salve Regina University on Saturday evening in Beverly.
The Gulls jumped out to an early lead and never looked back scoring 26-seconds into the game and following up with five more goals in the opening six minutes. Salve Regina was able to get on the board with 23:23 left in the first half making it a 6-1 game but the Gulls came right back with eight straight goals to break the game wide open and take a 15-2 lead into the half time break.
EC would tack on four more goals in the final 20 minutes of play to secure the 20-3 win and sure up the third seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference tournament set to being next week.
Sara Gunter (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk) led the Blue and Green with four goals while Alex Pearce (Underhill, VT/Kimball Union) chipped in with three goals and an assist. The Gulls had nine players record multi-point games as Emily Judd (Peabody, MA/Peabody), Molly Moss (Yarmouth, ME/NYA), Rebecca Bushnell (Guilford, CT/Guilford) and Kristen Micho (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) each scored twice and added assists.
Kate Colley (Wells, ME/Wells) also netted a pair of goals while Hannah Pelletier (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk) handed out two assists in the win. Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH/Gould Academy) and Molly Hamel (North Yarmouth, ME/Greely) split time between the pipes, each making three saves to help the Gulls to their seventh CCC win of the year.
Endicott finishes the year at 10-5 overall and 7-2 in the conference and will be the number three seed in the up coming CCC tournament. The Gulls will host a first round tournament game on Tuesday May 1, when they take on the Roger Williams Hawks. That game is tentatively scheduled for a 4:00 pm start on the turf.
