Men’s Volleyball Sweeps AIC On Senior Day, 3-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's volleyball team defeated American International College (AIC), 3-0, by scores of 25-23, 28-26, and 25-19 on Friday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Prior to the match, Spencer Capps (Lake Bluff, Ill.), Gabe DeBenedetto (Rockford, Ill.), Nikolas Kasprzak (Windham, N.H.), Mason Mallory (Playa del Rey, Calif.), Vance Mallory (Playa del Rey, Calif.), Finn McCaffrey (Redding, Conn.), Brady Mullens (Aurora, Colo.), Will Perry (San Mateo, Calif.), and Brian Wightman (Las Vegas, Nev.) were all honored for their contributions to the program and the Endicott community in a Senior Day ceremony.

Kasprzak led the Gulls with 11 kills on 18 swings (.556), while Mullens and M. Mallory followed with eight (.889) and seven kills, respectively.

DeBenedetto facilitated the offense, which hit .405, via 32 assists on 60 attempts (.533).

Tonight's match featured 14 ties (2-11-1) and six lead changes (0-6-0).

The second set witnessed ties of 20-20, 21-21, 22-22, 24-24, 25-25, and 26-26 before Kasprzak finished off the match with back-to-back kills.

Kasprzak finished the set with seven kills total, while Mullens was also pivotal down the stretch for the Gulls by notching his third and final kill (3-0-3, 2 digs) to make it 26-26.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 3-0 all-time against AIC (all 3-0 wins).
  • M. Mallory went a perfect 17-for-17 on serve-receive (seven led to kills).
  • Nine of Wightman's team-leading 21 receptions correlated in kills (.429).
  • The Gulls have won six straight matches.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (12-9) hosts Nichols tomorrow at 1 PM. AIC concludes its season at 2-22 overall.
