BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's volleyball team opens up its 2023 season on the road against Cal Lutheran at 7 PM on Saturday, January 14. Here's a preview of the upcoming season.
FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- For the 12th straight season, Endicott was picked first in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Preseason Poll.
- The three-time defending NECC Champion Gulls are receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Preseason Top-15 Poll.
- Endicott returns NECC Defensive Player of the Year/Senior Scholar-Athlete Nikolas Kasprzak (Windham, N.H.), All-NECC First Team selections Mason Mallory (Playa del Rey, Calif.) and Rafa Robert (San Juan, Puerto Rico), and All-NECC Second Team honoree Gavin Emenaker (Newton, Mass.) to the fold in 2023. Robert also earned AVCA All-America Second Team accolades last season.
- Fourteen student-athletes on the Gulls' 21-person roster are from outside New England.
- Based on this year's AVCA Preseason Poll, Endicott will play five nationally ranked teams, including the No. 2 (Springfield) and No. 3 (Wentworth) programs in the country, and three teams who are receiving votes.
