BEVERLY, MA -- Former Endicott player and assistant coach, Pablo Baez, was recently named the new head women's volleyball coach at Western Connecticut State University.
Baez, a three-year men's volleyball captain at Endicott from 2002-2004, played under coach Tim Byram and served as a women's volleyball manager while earning his Criminal Justice degree.
"He's a terrific young man and he'll make a great coach," said Byram. "Pablo showed tremendous leadership and really helped the program grow. It's a great fit and I'm happy that he got the opportunity."
Baez, who earned First-Team All-CCC honors as a junior, takes over a Western Conn. program that qualified for the NCAA tournament five consecutive seasons from 1999 to 2003. He also succeeds former coach Rich Myers, who finished his career as the all-time winningest volleyball coach (297 victories) at Western Conn.
