Beverly, MA -- The Gulls made quick work of the Lasers from Lasell College picking up a 3-0 victory in the NECVA New England matchup. The Gulls took only 55 minutes and all 10 active players saw action for EC as they won by the scores of 30-20, 30-13 and 30-16.
George Chapell had a terrific night for EC at the net. He hit a nearly perfect .875 knocking down seven kills on eight error-free swings. Chapell also contributed two aces and a block to the effort. Brandon Ecker led the team in two categories hammering down nine kills and picking up 11 digs. Russ Friedland and Eric Hunter shared the setting duties, which saw the Gulls hit .412 as a team and Jeremy Fontaine led the team with four aces.
The Gulls improve to 18-8 overall and 12-4 in NECVA New England play, while the Lasers wrap-up their 2005 campaign with a 2-17 record. The Gull will return to action tomorrow night when they will host NECVA New England rival Emmanuel College in an 8:00 PM match at the Post Center.
