Beverly, MA - The Gulls came out of the gate firing tonight and defeated the Mustangs of Mount Ida 3-0. EC's power at the net was too much for the Mustang's as they fell 30-16, 30-26 and 30-24. This was the Gulls third straight win and they are now 7-2 overall and 5-1 in NECVA New England play.
Playing well for the Gulls were Matt Keepin who led the team with 8 kills and 2 aces while outsides Allan DelValle and Mike Coflesky each hammered down 7 kills apiece. Russ Friedland dished out 36 assists in the effort while also picking up a team high 4 blocks and libero, Cory Merrill also played well picking up 6 digs while anchoring the teams serve receive.
The Gulls will now return to action tomorrow night when they will host the Nighthawks of Newbury College in a 7:00 PM match. EC will then travel to \#6 Steven's Tech for a 4:00 PM match this Saturday. This match was originally scheduled in conjunction with at trimatch at NYU but unfortunately was cancelled during the Blizzard of 2005.
